The Imam's Response to the Question of Naguib al-Uqubi: Can Allaah Create Something Like Himself?
In the name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Prayers of forgiveness and peace be upon all the prophets and messengers from the first of them to the seal of them Mohammed, the Messenger of Allaah, and upon all their families and all Muslims. We make no distinction between any of Allaah's messengers and we are Muslim (submitters) to Him. Verily, all praise is due to Allaah the Lord of the Worlds
O Naguib, be wise indeed! And do not the Beloved Lord’s sacred rights exceed!
Glory be to Him, Exalted and Supremely High. Let us suppose, O Naguib, that Allaah whom there is nothing like unto Him in qualities and essence, Highly Exalted is He! Yet, were we to suppose—purely as a hypothetical—that Allaah were to bring into existence a being like unto Himself in essence and attributes, then rights would necessarily be established for Allaah over that newly created being; and thus it would be incumbent upon it to worship Allaah alone, without partner, for He alone is the One who brought it into existence. Therefore, this new creation has become a servant of Allaah who created him just as we stand as servants of Allaah, created by Him for the sole purpose of His worship. Accordingly, no deity may rightly be ascribed alongside Allaah if it is created, for the rightful Deity must be the sole Creator, with nothing preceding Him to create Him
.
Then, the attributes of the singular sole Deity no one shares them except Allaah, the One and Only, the All-powerful unto infinity; He neither begets nor is begotten, and none is worthy to be likened to Him
.
O the Quranist¹ one, the respected Naguib al-Uqubi! I shall conclude my response to you with a response from Allaah in the clear verses of His Book:
{وَجَعَلُوا لِلَّـهِ شُرَكَاءَ الْجِنَّ وَخَلَقَهُمْ ۖ وَخَرَقُوا لَهُ بَنِينَ وَبَنَاتٍ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ ۚ سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ ﴿100﴾بَدِيعُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لَهُ وَلَدٌ وَلَمْ تَكُن لَّهُ صَاحِبَةٌ ۖوَخَلَقَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ ۖ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ ﴿101﴾ذَٰلِكُمُ اللَّـهُ رَبُّكُمْ ۖ لَا إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ خَالِقُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ فَاعْبُدُوهُ ۚوَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَكِيلٌ ﴿102﴾لَّا تُدْرِكُهُ الْأَبْصَارُ وَهُوَ يُدْرِكُ الْأَبْصَارَ ۖ وَهُوَ اللَّطِيفُ الْخَبِيرُ ﴿103﴾}
صدق الله العظيم [الأنعام].

And Allaah the Exalted said:
{قُلْ مَن يَرْزُقُكُم مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ أَمَّن يَمْلِكُ السَّمْعَ وَالْأَبْصَارَ وَمَن يُخْرِجُ الْحَيَّ مِنَ الْمَيِّتِ وَيُخْرِجُ الْمَيِّتَ مِنَ الْحَيِّ وَمَن يُدَبِّرُ الْأَمْرَ ۚ فَسَيَقُولُونَ اللَّـهُ فَقُلْ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ﴿31﴾فَذَٰلِكُمُ اللَّـهُ رَبُّكُمُ الْحَقُّ ۖ فَمَاذَا بَعْدَ الْحَقِّ إِلَّا الضَّلَالُ ۖ فَأَنَّىٰ تُصْرَفُونَ ﴿32﴾}
صدق الله العظيم [يونس].
Quran— Surah: Yunus — Verses: 31-32
{ فَمَاذَا بَعْدَ الْحَقِّ إِلَّا الضَّلَالُ }
{ فَمَاذَا بَعْدَ الْحَقِّ إِلَّا الضَّلَالُ }
{ فَمَاذَا بَعْدَ الْحَقِّ إِلَّا الضَّلَالُ }
Yunus:32
